The Freiburg Center for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, together with the University Hospitals in Heidelberg (study coordination), Tübingen and Ulm, has been investigating the role of children and families in the spread of the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).
Part 1 of the study investigated the prevalence of acute SARS-CoV-2 infection and SARS-CoV-2 antibodies amongst parents and children (<11 years) in Baden-Württemberg. Preliminary results from the first part of the study have now been published; a summary is available here in German and the full preliminary report can be found here in English.
Data analysis for the Part 2 of the study is still ongoing. The focus here is the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 within families.
