Dr. Miriam Erlacher, from the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at the Freiburg Center for Pediatrics, has been awarded the 2020/21 Research Award from the Freiburg Association for Children with Cancer (Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. Freiburg). Dr. Erlacher and her team investigate the role of apoptosis in triggering blood disorders diseases and leukemias in children. The research prize, which is endowed with 10,000 €, is awarded every two years to scientists who have made outstanding achievements in the field of cancer research.
