Health-care research and evidence-based medicine are cross-cutting themes with input from several partners beyond the Center for Pediatrics. Our health care research focuses particularly on patient communication and outcome evaluation (in co-operation with the Section of Health Care Research and Rehabilition Research). Evidence-based health care is well-established in adult medicine, but for children and adolescents, the evidence base for many treatments is unknown or unclear; we seek to provide better evaluations of evidence in pediatrics (in co-operation with the Institute for Evidence in Medicine, linked site in German) to guide better treatment decisions.
