SUMMARY:Berta-Ottenstein-Programm: applications for Clinician Scientists
DESCRIPTION:Clinical research needs outstanding \nclinicians who in addition to their patient-care duties are active in \nresearch. Day-to-day patient care leaves young clinicians with little \ntime to work on their own research projects. Thus the Faculty of \nMedicine launched the Berta-Ottenstein-Programme for Clinician \nScientists in 2016.  \n\n\n\nThe structured qualification programme provides optimal conditions for combining scientific and clinical careers. Over the course of the three-year program\, participants conduct a research project in parallel with their medical specialty training. Throughout this time they are supported by mentors. In addition\, they take part in further scientific and medical training courses\, as well as soft skills courses. \n\n\n\nTarget group \n\n\n\nThe programme is open to clinicians from any field of medicine. The call for applications for Track I and Track II is directed at clinicians in medical specialty training. \n\n\n\nPrinciples and goals \n\n\n\nProtected time for research in flexible distribution over the total funding period (50%)Clinical advanced training as part of the specialist retraining (50%)Individual qualification program with focus on scientific training and medical education as well as key qualificationsParticipants profit from supervision and mentoringPreparation of scientific publications\n\n\n\nFor more information\, please visit the Faculty of Medicine website here: https://www.med.uni-freiburg.de/de/forschung/karrierewege/bop/foerderlinie-clinician-scientist/foerderlinie-cs
